Congratulations to Mehdi Balooch for publishing in J. Nucl. Mat.

The paper “Performance evaluation and post-irradiation examination of a novelLWR fuel composed of U 0.17ZrH1.6 fuel pellets bonded to Zircaloy-2cladding by lead bismuth eutectic” was published in J. Nucl. Mat. by Mehdi Balooch, Donald R. Olander, Kurt A. Terrani, Peter Hosemann, Andrew M. Casella,David J. Senor, Edgar C. Buck.

Congratulations to the team for publishing in Experimental Mechanics “Evaluation of the Mechanical Properties of TRISO Particles Using Nanoindentation and Ring Compression Testing”

D. Frazer, J. Szornel, D.L. Krumwiede, K.A.Terrani, P. Hosemann published a new paper in “Experimental mechanics” entitled:”Evaluation of the Mechanical Properties of TRISO Particles Using Nanoindentation and Ring Compression Testing”

DOE NEUP award enables the in-situ Hysitron nanoindenter with heating and nanoDynamic mode at UCB

This week Hysitron installed the new in-situ PI88 with heating (<800C), nanoDynamic mode, and two load ranges (max 500mN) at UCB’s nuclear materials group. We are excited to be able to test materials at reactor operation temperature on the nano scale (indentation, bending, compression and tension). This tool will also be available for NSUF users. […]

Thanks to DOE-NEUP we received our new Kammrath and Weiss in-situ tensile stage!

We are looking forward to test many irradiated and not irradiated samples with this fantastic tool!
